Though I certainly do not advocate riding like most squids do: shorts, t-shirts, flip flops, no gloves, etc.. I at least feel that these kevlar jeans are a far greater choice however I myself never leave my drive way without full race leathers, boots, kevlar gloves, street armor, and my helmet on... People take it from me that if you lay your bike down at 100 mph while doing stand up wheelies on the freeway or doing anything else at 80,90, 100, 150 mph and you do not have all of the proper gear on you can take it to the bank that the asphalt is going to completely erase about 95 percent of your physical body lol.. Peace out everyone and stay safe/ride safe.. P.s squids should not be doing wheelies anyways lol

I agree with the description of what truly great gloves were as opposed to now in as much that they were certainly made to SAVE your hands, wrists from any real damage period whereas now they are more geared to looks... I have some incredible examples of race gloves...kevlar,etc all over them and they do work well in laydowns but once the wreck is over you need to buy new ones for sure unlike the gladiator gloves of old that did more damage to asphalt than to glove

Though I have as much experience with motorcrossing as I have with knowing what its like to go to the moon I am however a very seasoned pro on the track and on the street with sport bikes..... I tell you this because who better a person to evaluate what is a greater street boot than a stunter ,street and track racer that spends everyday out doing 80 mph wheelies, stoppies and blowing past everything else on hwy at 150 mph? I have laid down many a bike lol and let me tell you if you want the greatest safety functioning a boot can give then you want to get a full fledged motorcross racing boot and use it for your street riding: These boots are created from end to end for all things that would love to break, shred, etc your legs from knee down whereas the lame ass conventional strret boots are but simply a fashion statement that offer minimal if any real protection for your below knee extremities. Sure there are those that will say they can be hard to shift with, etc but the simple solve is to just ajust your shifter and then what will the fashion conscious squids say? Oh did I mention that motorcross boots are very kick ass looking and in same frame are very good for kicking some ass of some troglodyte that decides to test you all because his girl cant keep her eyes off you and your bike lol.
